Mammoth Mountain is conveniently located in the Sierra Nevada Range . Situated in western United States , the resort is at a driving distance of less than six hours from Los Angeles. Mammoth Mountain ski resort has adventurous skiing trails. Total skiable area in the resort measures 3,500 acres, which is spread over 156 runs. Summit elevation in the resort measures 11,053 feet while the vertical drop records 3,100 feet. The longest run in the ski resort measures three miles. Forty percent runs are suitable for intermediate skiers, while the rest are good for expert and beginners. Total of 28 ski lifts operate in the resort to carry skiers to the main ski area. Ski season in Mammoth Mountain spans from November to June.
