Alpenglow

Alpenglow is the chief ski resort in the Anchorage region of Alaska , Untied States.

Due to the major snowfall that it receives every year, it has developed into a major ski resort equipped with all kinds of snow-sport facilities. Snowboarding is the specialty of Alpenglow ski resort . However, it offers great skiing facilities as well.

Alpenglow is unique because it is the only ski resort in the United States that is maintained entirely by volunteers. There are four lifts in the region which serve 25 trails and open up a wide ski area of 320 acres. The trails are great for intermediate and advanced skiers. Snow - riding on the extensive snow areas is one the greatest attractions of the resort. The thick carpet of snow makes it a delightful experience. Snowboarding is the other attractions of the area. The newly built snow terrain provides great entertainments for the young and old alike.

Because of the occasional heavy snow that the area receives, and the fact that the resort is maintained exclusively by volunteers, it is always advisable to check on the status of the skiing conditions before leaving for Alpenglow . The resort is open only on weekends and night skiing facilities are not available. Visitors who plan an extended stay at Alaska are advised to get season tickets, which come at exciting rates. Lodging facilities are available at Anchorage. Ted Stevens International Airport is the nearest gateway airport from where the resort can be accessed.
