Perito Moreno


Perito Moreno is a small privately owned ski resort on the northwest of El Bolson in the Patagonia region of Argentina .

The ski area belongs to the Ardino Piltriquitron Club . The resort has moderate infra-structure that is best for intermediate skiers. However, the great scenic beauty and the moderate skiing expenses of the area have attracted interested skiers over the years to this ski resort on the northwest of El Bolson .

Perito Moreno may not be the resort to receive the maximum amount of snow, but a thin film of snow is enough to cover the shrubby vegetation of the area and provide great powder to ski through. Perito Moreno ski resort has a total of five lifts that lead on to two runs. The runs are ideal for intermediate skiers, but beginners can also end up having a nice time on them. The thick vegetation of the area makes it utterly unsuitable for off-piste skiing and backcountry skiing. But it does produce good ice-climbing opportunities.

One of the greatest attractions of Perito Moreno is the great sight-seeing that the area provides which is unequaled in the world. The view of the majestic Perito Moreno Glacier gradually breaking into icebergs is truly amazing. Accommodation is available on the many lodges and hotels at El Bolson , because Perito Moreno is an extremely popular tourist destination. Whale watching and ice-climbing are some of the other recreations offered by the area.
