Vitsi

Vitsi , a municipality in the area of Oxya settlement in the Kastoria Prefecture of Greece , is one of the most important ski resorts of the country.

It provides excellent skiing facilities in the beautiful settings of the Verno Mountain of Greece. The base of the resort is situated at an altitude of 1610 metres and the top elevates as high as 1880 metres. It is located inside a dense forest of beech trees. The resort is quite small in size and has only five slopes. These slopes are not so popular among the intermediate or the advance skiers. However, the beginner skiers and the children practice their skills on the snow covered slopes of the Vitsi Ski Resort

The ski resort of Vitsi has only two ski lifts in service. One of these is a one-seat sliding lift while the other is a baby lift. The resort provides the skiers with a number of facilities like cafés and restaurants, ski hiring facilities, skiing schools where trained instructors teach the skiers the basics of skiing, parking lots and others.

The skiers can find comfortable accommodation while inside the Vitsi Ski Resort . There is a chalet with a capacity of 150 persons. A guest house is also under construction. With all these, the ski resort at Vitsi has occupied an important place among the Greek ski resorts
