Risoul Ski Resort , at an altitude of 1,850 meters, along with the resort of Vars has the fourth largest ski area in France . Nature appears vibrant and animated in the sunny surroundings with the whole area smeared with clusters of wooden huts and dotted with trees.

The resort has been flocked by numerous skiers as well as tourists for a long time.

Risoul Ski Resort is a favorite amongst both amateurs and intermediates. The resort has access to 112 ski runs with a total length of about 180 kilometers. The longest of the pistes stretches about eight kilometers. The ski runs or pistes at Risoul are served by 56 lifts with a capacity to transfer about 3,000 skiers an hour. The highest lift reaches to an altitude of about 2,750 meters. The slopes serve expectations of skiers of all categories. The resort also includes a cross-country trail that extend to about 40 kilometers.

December to late April is the prime ski season at the Risoul Ski Resort . The resort is easily accessible from nearby towns. The Marseilles International Airport is just a two and half hours drive from the place. Cars can be hired from the airport for reaching Risoul . Tourists can opt for the high speed TGV trains from Paris to Valence, Aix or Grenoble. From there a connecting train can be boarded to the station at Mont – Dauphin.
