Portes du Soleil is an expansive ski resort with the largest ski area in the world. It stretches all the way from Mont Blanc in France to Lake Geneva in Switzerland.

It is actually a network of 14 interconnected ski resorts of small to moderate size. It is one of the most popular sites for winter holidays in the world.

The altitude of Portes du Soleil ensures great snow throughout the long winter. Even when there is no snow anywhere else, Avoriez, which is the highest of the resorts, is sure to have some. Morzine is the oldest of the resorts. Chalet is also a popular destination for skiers.

Portes du Soleil has an extensive network of over 200 pistes spread over an area of 650 km. Being laced with a wide range of gentle Alpine slopes, it is extremely popular among intermediate skiers. The beginners too have a great time. The experts can avail the many off-piste tracks. There is a great diversity of scenic delights here with something new to discover at every bend. This variety and unpredictability of Portes du Soleil forces visitors to come back time and again.

Portes du Soleil enjoys winter from December to April. The easiest way to reach there is from Geneva. Many Swiss and French buses carry passengers to Portes du Soleil from there.
