Parnassos




Parnassos is regarded as the largest and most-developed ski resort in Greece . The resort is usually crowded on weekends but during the weekdays, it remains almost empty.

The terrains are also relaxed during the weekdays, but during peak ski season the resort remains crowded all the time. The surroundings are beautiful and the scenery awe-inspiring. It offers all the facilities and amenities that a standard ski resort should offer.

Situated at an altitude of 1,750 meters above the sea-level, Parnassos ski resort has good snow conditions for skiing. The resort is in close proximity to Athens . It is 180 kilometers northwest of Athens near the famous historical town of Delphi. The most convenient way to reach Parnassos is to take a flight to Athens followed by a car drive to the resort. Buses also operate between Delphi and Athens .

Skiing in Parnassos is a pleasurable experience with 20 slopes and total slope length ranging to 14 kilometers. The vertical drop of the resort is 620 meters. The slopes can be accessed with 13 ski lifts that carry tourists to the ski area. Most of the slopes are suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers though there are challenging slopes for advanced and expert skiers. Ski season in Parnassos spans from end-December to end-April.

Accommodation facilities in the resort are abundant with several hotels, chalets and rented apartments. Other facilities offered by Parnassos ski resort include restaurants, bars, cafes, nightclubs, discos, ski rentals with repair shops, ski school, childcare and first-aid center.
