Megeve

Megeve is located in the Haute-Savoie department of France on the lap of the beautiful French Alps . The place is one of the oldest ski resorts of France and was established in 1913.

The resort is situated at an altitude of 1100 metres. The Megeve Ski Resort encompasses as many as 137 snow covered slopes. The total piste length of the resort is 300 Kilometers. There are also 70 Kilometers of pistes marked as the cross country trails. The pistes are designed accordingly for the beginner and intermediate skiers. There are also scopes for the expert skiers to hone their skills in the Megeve Ski Resort . The whole area of the ski resort is interlinked with the help of a network of 79 lifts.

There are a number of amenities available in the Megeve Ski Resort . The snowpark present inside the resort enhance the entertainment of the visitors. There are also 185 snow cannons to keep the park full of snow throughout the year. Along with the good restaurants available inside the resort, there are also a number of shopping outlets and ski schools for the skiers. Apart from skiing, the resort also hosts snow shoeing, dog sledding and others.

The Megeve Ski Resort lacks good lodging facilities. Hence the skiers prefer a day tour to the resort while staying in some other ski resort during the night. Yet, the Megeve Ski Resort is fast developing into a major ski resort of France as well as of Europe.
