Les Orres is the largest ski resort in the Embrunais area of the Southern Alps . This French ski resort is just above the Durance valley where the sublime Alps mingles with the warm South.
Les Orres is a ski resort with a typical Southern feel to it. It is sunny and the beautiful lake Serre-Poncon below it provides a great view. It has a total of 25 lifts that is spread over an area of 63 km. There are 88 meters of lift served runs. The pistes of Les Orres are ideal for the intermediate skiers. The experts can of course, ski through the well maintained off-piste runs through the wide open slopes. Les Orres also has the facility of 40 km. cross-country skiing.
Les Orres is a family-friendly ski resort. Visitors can entertain themselves at the various snow-parks of the area and the ski schools are good and helpful. Being a quiet and serene ski resort, buzzing night-life is not something one can really expect to find here. Instead it provides great skiing experience and a memorable feel of the warm Southern Alps.
The winter season at the Les Orres ski resort lasts from December to April. Embrun is the nearest town from where it can be easily reached.
