La Plagne




La Plagne Ski Resort is located in the Alpine valley of Tarentaise in Savoie and is a major ski resort in France .

The resort is possibly the largest ski resort in the whole world. It consists of ten ski villages and provides excellent skiing condition and facilities. It is situated at an altitude of 1250 metres and elevates up to 3250 metres at its top. There are as many as 133 slopes and they are interconnected with 103 lifts. The La Plagne Ski Resort has a snow park for the enjoyment of the visitors. It is situated on the Bellecote Glacier. There are 277 snow cannons to ensure the visitors a taste of skiing even in case of a lack of snowfall. The La Plagne Ski Resort has a piste length of 225 kilometers and there is also 90 kilometers of trails marked for cross country skiing.

The La Plagne Ski Resort has been built at an altitude of 1800 metres. There are separate provisions for the learning and practice of the beginner, intermediate and expert skiers. The ski resort also provides scope for snowboarding. There are several restaurants and ski hiring facilities available along the ski runs. The La Plagne Ski Resort has hosted several competitive events of skiing.

There are several accommodation facilities available at the La Plagne Ski Resort like hotels and apartments. These include Residence Les Constellations, Cassiopee Apartments, Maeva, Hotel Balcons and others. The world class comfort offered by these hotels and apartments are bringing and increasing number of skiers to the La Plagne Ski Resort.
