Stara Planina

Stara Planina or the Balkan Mountains is the biggest mountain range in Bulgaria .

The range is the host to the beautiful and exciting ski resort , the Uzana Ski Resort . It is located at a height of 1300 to 1400 meters above the sea level. The Uzana ski resort becomes the hub of all the snow sports lovers during the winter. There are various sports like skiing, snowboarding and others. However, skiing is undoubtedly the main sport of the resort.

The skiing season in the Stara Planina begins in the middle of December and ends towards the onset of April. There are a varied number of pistes in the ski area. These are quite well maintained and are different for the beginners, intermediates and the experts. The skiers can also avail themselves of the ski hiring facilities in the resort to enjoy the fun of skiing.

There are several hotels in the Stara Planina which offer accommodation to the skiers who come to enjoy the skiing at the Uzana Ski Area . The most important among these is the Hotel Prima S. There are also several other hotels and apartments for cheap but comfortable lodging. They offer the boarders a number of lucrative facilities. The Stara Planina is developing into a major ski resort of Bulgaria with all its facilities and excellent skiing conditions.
