Sils is 1,804 meters above sea-level. It used to be a very popular summer resort for its sunny weather. However the authorities of Sils planned to change it from just an important summer resort to a significant winter attraction as well. The rural area is enchanting and is beautified by a lovely mountain lake, which makes winter walks extremely refreshing. Sils Ski Resort offers facilities for tobogganing and cross-country skis. The annual Engadin marathon attracts great number of participants as well.
