Saas Grund , a municipality in Visp, a district in the canton of Valais in Switzerland , provides scintillating scenes of the snow packed mountains of the area.
The Saas Grund Ski Resort along with its adjacent Kreuzboden-Hohsaas ski area is one of the major ski areas of the region. The resort provides 2,259 acres of area for skiing. The region has nine trails which are connected by as many as 16 ski lifts. Of these lifts, two are gondolas and cable cars while the remaining twelve are surface lifts. Along the pistes, 28 restaurants are placed to satisfy the weary travelers. There is also a ski school for training and a shop for hiring skiing equipments.
