Ruka

Ruka ski resort can provide experience of a lifetime since the place is directly under the influence of Arctic Circle.

When the light of the sun falls on the landscape features, the landscape reflects beautiful shades and provides a mystifying appeal to the place. The spring light in Ruka is bright but soft and is a specialty of the Arctic region. Ruka was the first Nordic ski resort that was established with a long ski season and many skiing days. The ski resort has become one of the leading winter sports destinations for skiers and tourists in Finland and that resulted in hosting the Freestyle World Championships in 2005.

Ruka is located in north-east of Finland on the Arctic Circle. The ski slopes in Ruka ski resort are in excellent condition and are groomed and maintained regularly. In the evening, the slopes are illuminated and provide an exquisite sight to viewers. There are total 28 runs in Ruka , out of which 14 are suitable for intermediates, 10 for beginners and 4 for advanced skiers. 18 ski lifts, out of which 4 are chairlifts, are operated from the resort to carry skiers to the ski area. The ski resort also provides tuition at Ruka Ski School by skilled professional skiers in alpine skiing, snowboarding and telemarking. Accommodation standards in Ruka are high and are available in various hotels, rented apartments and chalets. Other facilities provided by Ruka ski resort authority are various restaurants, cafes, sauna, swimming pools, club music and discos.
