Predeal ski resort in Romania has made a place for itself in the world of ski resorts after Sinaia. The name “Predeal” owes its origin to the Romanian word “pre deal” which means “on the hill”.
Predeal ski resort is located on the northernmost fringe of the Prahova Valley . The ski resort is just 25 kilometers away from Brasov, 16 kilometer from Sinaia and approximately 150 kilometer from Bucharest. The easiest way to reach Predeal is from Brasov. Predeal ski resort is surrounded by five massifs namely Baiului, Bucegi, Fitifoi, Paitra Mare and Postavaru. Ski season is short ranging from September to March. The ski slopes in Predeal are well enhanced with eight ski lifts in the form of chairlifts, cable cars and elevators. The slopes are suitable for beginners and intermediates of skiing but experts also come to enjoy skiing in the resort.
