Kongsberg

Kongsberg town is situated at the Buskerud County , in Norway . The town is regarded as one of the small ski resorts established in the country.

Located in the Numedal Valley , Kongsberg is one of the popular ski destinations of the region. The Kongsberg ski resort or the Kongsberg Skisenter homes one of the modern alpine ski areas of the region. The town is at only an hour's drive from Oslo. The Kongsberg ski resort lies at 270 meters above the sea level. The ski area in the resort is suitable for skier of any capability. However, the slopes are considered to be best for the intermediate skiers. There is 10 kilometers long run at a drop of 330 meters at the Kongsberg ski resort . On the snow covered mountain slopes, people can enjoy skiing, snowboarding and other winter sports. The seven kilometer long downhill pistes are preferred by skilled skiers.

Skiing season at Kongsberg stretches between December and April. During this time many skiers and tourists gather at the Kongsberg ski resort . People can reach the town by road from the nearby Oslo Airport. Five ski lifts, among which one is a four-seat express lift, have been set up at the Kongsberg ski resort to ferry skiers and visitors from base to the summit. There is special lift system for children also. Accommodation at the resort can be arranged at lodges, apartments and cabins. Special discount is offered on family package and for children by the resort authority.
