Braunwald is a municipality in the Swiss canton of Glarus which offers excellent views of the Alps towards its horizons. The place is among the top skiing destinations of the country.
The Braunwald Ski Resort experiences the skiing season from the month of December to April. The ski resort has eight lifts which carry the skiers to their favorite skiing slopes. These include two drag lifts, three chair lifts and the remaining three are cable cars and bubbles. The lowest of these lifts are situated at an altitude of 1526 metres at the base of the resort. The slopes are designed accordingly for the learning and practice purpose of the beginner and intermediate skiers. Apart from skiing, the resort also hosts snow shoeing instructions. Besides, skidoos, torch light descents and sleigh rides are also common in the Braunwald Ski Resort .
