Adelboden

Adelboden , a Swiss municipality in the district of Frutigen, stands in the valley of the river Engstligen.

It is a major ski resort of Switzerland and also offers a panorama of the snow covered mountain ranges and peaks. The Adelboden Ski Area is divided into a number of domains. A few of them can be accessed by ski lifts whereas the others are connected from the town by a bus service. The ski resort stands on the Les Diablerets Glacier .

The Adelboden Ski Resort with a large ski area is situated at an altitude of 1,050 metres. The length of the pistes runs up to 250 kilometers. There are also 100 kilometers of cross country trails. The whole ski area is interconnected with the help of as many as 67 ski lifts. The height of the lowest lift is 950 metres while the highest lift helps the skier to reach a height of 3,000 metres. There is a snow park for entertainment of the skiers. The resort also hosts snowboarding events.

During its skiing season from December to April, the Adelboden Ski Resort experiences a rush of visitors. The hotels go through a busy schedule during that time. Some of the major hotels in Adelboden are Parkhotel Bellevue and Spa, Hotel Regina, Adler Sporthotel and others. The beauty of nature oozes in Adelboden. There are also a lot of facilities for skiing and they attract a number of skiers to the resort annually.
