Nakiska



Nakiska Ski Resort hosted the 1988 Olympic alpine events which included Alpine skiing and freestyle moguls skiing. The construction of the resort started in 1986, as a part of the 1988 Winter Olympics .
Since then the resort has been growing as one of the major ski destinations of the country.

Nakiska Ski Resort , in the Canadian province of Alberta , in the country of Kananaskis, is situated on the slope of Mount Allan. The resort has a total of 28 ski trails, which can accessed through six chairlifts. The lifts at Nakiska include two quads, one triple, one double, one T-Bar and one Magic Carpet. The resort covers an area of about three square kilometers. The longest run stretches to three kilometers. The resort has a top elevation of 2,260 meters and a base elevation of about 1,525 meters.

Nakiska is easily accessible from the nearby towns. It is 83 kilometers away from Calgary and just a 49 minute drive from the town. The Kanaskis village is only 2.5 kilometers from the Nakiska Ski Resort .
