Fortress Mountain



Fortress Mountain , located in the Kananaskis Country of Alberta in Canada , is a major ski resort of the continent of North America. The resort is owned by the Baniff Rail Co. who is responsible
for its maintenance and development also. The base of the resort is situated at an altitude of 2,040 metres while the top elevation reaches 2,369 metres. The ski resort covers an area of 3.8 square Kilometers and is served by six ski lifts. Among these, there are three chairlifts and two T-bars. The 47 ski runs of the resort are interlinked by these ski lifts.

The Fortress Mountain Ski Resort offers ski runs for the beginner, intermediate as well as the advanced skiers. The pistes are designed accordingly to meet their needs. Skiing is extremely popular among the visitors. However, snowboarding is also held there. The resort also has 160 Kilometers of pistes marked for cross country skiing. There is also a terrain park for the entertainment of the visitors.

The visitors, while at the Fortress Mountain Ski Resort , does not have much to choose from for accommodation. There is a single chalet for night stay with four bedrooms and sleeping accommodation for ten people. It is the Otter Lane Chalet which offers the boarders with world class comfort, apart from a number of added amenities. All these together pull the skiers towards Fortress Mountain to have a memorable experience at the ski resort.
