Mount Robert


Mount Robert is a ski field located near the Nelson Lakes within the Nelson Lakes National Park in the Nelson area of the South Island of New Zealand.

The ski resort is a heaven for the serenity loving skiers with its desolated peaks. The resort is a home to cross country skiing and is governed by the Nelson ski Club. The ski field can be accessed either by walking or by helicopters. The resort is active for three months a year during the winter. It opens in the beginning of July and is open till the end of September.

The Mount Robert ski resort has the elevation of 1400 metres at the bottom and the top reaches as high as 1700 metres. It is served by a total number of five ski lifts. The resort also has separate skiing areas for the beginners, intermediates and experts. The weather of the area during the months when it remains open assists the skiing there.

There are a number of lodges in the ski resort of Mount Robert . The interested visitors can stay back in the lodges for the night after enjoying an extremely exciting day of skiing. The skiers also love to stay at the resort and flock there every year during the skiing season from all over the world.
