Singapore Airlines is the national career of Singapore and number one airline of Asia. It has a presence in over 41 countries, spread across 5 continents. Singapore Airlines has been in the aviation industry for the last 60 years and has lived upto its slogan - A Great Way to Fly.
Singapore Airlines fleet is amongst the youngest in the world. The average age of each plane is around 6 years. Presently the airline has a total fleet of 92 aircrafts which includes the following:

Singapore Airlines will become the first airlines to incorporate the Airbus A380, the largest aircraft till date. This model of Airbus is curently under construction. The airlines also maintains a hub at the Singapore Changi Airport. Besides this, it also has two secondary hubs at Dubai International Airport and Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Having been the pioneer in providing complimentary headsets and serving free drinks in the aviation industry, Singapore Airlines also became the first to provide inflight telecommunication services to its passengers.
Initially, Singapore Airlines was known as Malayan Airways Limited, which came into existence in 1947. On 16th September, 1963 the name of the airlines was changed to Malaysian Airways Limited and 3 years later it was again changed to Malaysia-Singapore Airlines. Finally in 1972, the airline was split up into Malaysian Airways Limited and Singapore Airlines.
Since its birth, the airlines began to expand its fleet and reached out to more destinations around the world. Its journey down the years is also full of historical events. Singapore Airlines became the first airline to incorporate the A300 Superbus, the B757, the A310-200 and the B747-300 Big Top planes.
Singapore Airlines has registered its name as an airline company preferred by the tourist to Singapore form all over the world.
