Different ethnic communities of the country possess indigenous dance forms. The dancers wear various types of wooden masks. Ethnic and French influences have enriched music of Sierra Leone. Palm wine is both a favorite beverage and a musical form (maringa) of the country. Gumbe and afro-pop are some other popular musical genres of the country.
