Al Musmak Castle



The Al Musmak Castle is presently a heritage center and is presented for tourist viewing as a museum. It is located in the capital city of Sdaudi Aeabia, Riyadh. The Al Musmak castle bears the evidence of the birth of the nation of Saudia Arabia under the leadership of king Abdulaziz. This fort had originally been the stronghold of king Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Rasheed. The handover of the power took place in 1319 H. The fort had been built some times between 1289 H and 1315 H. Before being converted into a museum, the place had been used as a depot. The conversion of this fort to the museum is largely the work of the Ministry of Education.

Reaching Al Musmak Castle

Al Musmak Castle is situated in the city of Riyadh and is one of the oldest places in the city. Those who would want to go sightseeing may do so in a number of ways. Transportation in the city is possible by cabs, hired cars as well as buses. There are separate timings for visit of male school children, female school children and families as a whole. The Al Musmak Castle remains closed for public viewing on Fridays.
