Leek Samboosak



Leek Samboosak is a widely popular cuisine of Saudi Arabia. This delicious recipe can be tasted in some of the food joints in the Middle East region. Though one can cook them at home also as these are very easy tom make.
Ingredients of Leek Samboosak
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • Water
  • Salt as per taste
For fillings:
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 chili peppers
  • 1 bundle leeks
  • 1 tablespoon corn oil
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • Salt as per taste
Method of preparing Leek Samboosak
Make a dough by mixing yeast, egg, salted water and flour. Cover it and keep aside in a warm place for an hour. After that wash the leeks properly and chop them finely. Now cut onions into thin rings and add finely chopped chili pepper, black pepper, oil and salt to it. Also add the finely chopped leeks and mix properly.

Now take the dough and roll it round a thin pastry stick. Cut the dough into square shapes. Now take this square dough, dip in dry flour and roll it in a square shape. Put a tablespoon of leek mixture in the middle of these squares and fold the edges on top of each other.

Then bake the samboosak on moderate heat till they turn brown. Take out and arrange in serving dish. Leek Samboosak is ready to be served.
