Key Ingredients for Aish Bel-Lahm
For preparing the dough, one will require the following ingredients:
  • Vegetable oil - 3 table spoons
  • Eggs - 3
  • Yeast - 1 table spoon
  • Flour - 4 cups
  • Cumin and black pepper (bread spices) - ½ teaspoon
For preparation of the stuffing, the following ingredients are required:
  • Ground beef - ¾ pound
  • Finely chopped onions - 2
  • Black peppercorns - 2
  • Bundle leeks - ½
  • Sesame cream - 6 table spoons
  • Poppy seeds - 1 table spoon
  • Salt - 2 teaspoons
  • Corn oil - 3 table spoons

In a large bowl, flour, eggs, yeast, oil, bread spices and salt according to taste have to be added and mixed well. While mixing, a little quantity of water is to be added at a time. The mixing should be done till the dough is firm. In the mean time, yeast is to be dissolved in warm water, measuring about half a cup.

The ground beef, salt and onion are to be placed in a saucepan for cooking on a medium heat. The meat has to be kept aside to cool. Then chopped leeks and rest of the ingredients are to be mixed with meat. This mixture has to be placed on the dough and has to be baked. Poppy seeds may be added for garnishing Aish Bel-Lahm.
