Yanbu International School (YIS) is one of the eight educational institutions of the world, which is a part of the International Schools Group. Yanbu International School is an international school, which follows an American curriculum and is a non-profit institution, which is licensed by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Education. The school is managed by a Board of Trustees comprising of representatives from each of the constituent schools.
The Yanbu International School in Saudi Arabia was set up in the year 1979 and was administered by International Schools Services, Inc., Princeton, New Jersey. In the year 1988, Yanbu International School became a member of Saudi Arabian International Schools, Dhahran District. Yanbu International School is accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
Apart from the regular courses, the Yanbu International School offers special courses in music, culture, computer technology, physical education, Arabic language, information literacy and sciences and social studies. Elective subjects offered at the school include French, Spanish, Urdu and language courses. The school also offers a variety of recreational and extra-curricular activities like basketball, cricket, volleyball, soccer, science fairs, knowledge bowl contests and a host of cultural programs.
The Yanbu International School is managed under a lease agreement with the Royal Commission of the Industrial City of Yanbu Al Sinaiyah. At present, the enrollment is 231 and Principal is Dr. Mark Lee.
