After completing the course at the Arabic Language Institute and obtaining 80% or above in the subject, the learner may sit for an entrance exam. To get himself enrolled at any of the colleges of Umm al-Qura University, he must qualify in the entrance exam. For those who fail to qualify the exam can study at the language institute and specialize in Arabic teaching that is conducted over a period of two to four years.
During admission at Umm al-Qura University, the following documents are required:
- High school diploma (with 80% or more)
- Photographs
- Birth certificate
- Passport copies
- Copy of the diploma
- Health certificate
- High school transcripts
