Umm Al-Qura University

Umm al-Qura University is located in the religious city of Makka in Saudi Arabia. There are many colleges that are affiliated to this university. The university offers courses in Arabic for those who are not acquainted with the language. The duration of the course is two years. It is provided to both male and female students.

After completing the course at the Arabic Language Institute and obtaining 80% or above in the subject, the learner may sit for an entrance exam. To get himself enrolled at any of the colleges of Umm al-Qura University, he must qualify in the entrance exam. For those who fail to qualify the exam can study at the language institute and specialize in Arabic teaching that is conducted over a period of two to four years.

During admission at Umm al-Qura University, the following documents are required:

• High school diploma (with 80% or more)
• Photographs
• Birth certificate
• Passport copies
• Copy of the diploma
• Health certificate
• High school transcripts

Beside, all the certificates and copies must be approved by the Embassy of Saudi Arabia. At the time of admission the applicant should be 25 years of age or less. They also require a letter recommended by the Islamic organizations of Makka.
