The Islamic University in Madinah is known for preserving the Islamic culture and heritage. It is located in the beautiful town of Al Madinah Al Munawwarah with surrounding hills, mountains and deserts. The university campus spreads over a large area of land. Various faculties as well as a Mosque are located within the university campus. The low height buildings are not more than four floors. The valleys within the vicinity are valuable sources that supply water to this region. The entrance gate faces towards the Madinah city. The building axes are straight to give due recognition to the Qibla in Makkah.
In 2000-2001, the number of teachers at the University in Al Madinah Al Munawwarah was estimated to be 421 and students 2000. The faculties include Islamic Studies, the Holy Qur'an, Islamic Preaching, Da'wa and Usul Al-Din, Arabic Language, Islamic Law (Shari'ah) and Islamic Traditions (Hadith).
