Samoa Provinces are eleven in number and all the
Samoa Provinces and Cities together form the beautiful country of Samoa. In the year 1900 the Samoa Island was divided between Germany and the United States and Germany got the western part of the Samoa Island. New Zealand and Britain occupied German Samoa in 29th August 1914, and that was finally mandated to New Zealand in 1920 by the League of Nations. Further in 1946 the mandate was changed into United Nations Trusteeship and it was granted independence in 1 January 1962.The name Samoa was a entitled to the country but it was called as Western Samoa just that it can be distinguished from the American Samoa.

A'ana province in Samoa is surrounded on three sides by the Aiga-i-ie-Tai and A'ana has enclave on the Upolu coast. Aiga-i-ie-Tai province houses tiny islands of Apolima and Manona. Gaga'emauga province is situated in the Savai's island and has two enclaves on the Upolu. And its northern end is surrounded by Tuamasaga. Atua province houses the islands of Namu’a, Nu'utele and Nu’ulua and these islands are still uninhabited. The Palauli and Satupa’itea provinces of Samoa contain separate sections each in between them.
The Palauli province is a great place for mountaineering activities and is one among the best tourist spot of Samoa. Apia is the capital city of Samoa and it lies in the Tuamasaga province.
