Apia Samoa is the capital of the island group. It is located on the northern shore of Upolu island of the South Pacific Ocean. It is the center of commerce and economics of the country. All the government works also take place here. The chief port of the country is located in this town from where copra, bananas, cacao and coffee get exported.

Until European missionaries and traders arrived here in 1830s Apia Western Samoa remained a small village. The European style quickly influenced this town. It had been the capital of the German dependency of Western Samoa between 1899 and 1914. After World War I New Zealand came into power. Samoa got independence in 1962. Apia remained the Capital of Samoa. Currently the population of this place is 34,126.
