Presently the Samoa Currency is known is Samoan Tala. Foreign currency is not allowed to use in shops since 1999. However some of the companies still use US dollar. American Samoa exclusively uses US$. Samoan Tala can be calculated as ST$100=US$30. Spanish Peseta is also granted as Samoa Currency.

Samoan Tala is the main currency. If divided one Samoan Tala results in 100 seniti. However you can't have any access until you reach this country because bringing Tala outside Samoa is forbidden by the government. You can collect it from the bureau de change at the airport. But if you want a better rate you should go for the Bank of Western Samoa in Apia. Both paper notes and coins are in use.

US Dollar, Samoan Tala and Spanish Peseta are common to this country. In respect to Local Currency US Dollar has got no restriction in case of import or export. Import and export restriction are not applicable in case of Spanish Peseta. Import is not restricted in case of Samoan Tala but export is prohibited.

In respect to Foreign Currency, import restriction is not applicable to US Dollar, Samoan Tala or Spanish Peseta. Though US Dollar and Spanish Peseta have no export restriction it is applicable for Samoan Tala but not fully. It is dictated by the amount of import.
