Prime Minister of Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia is a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy. Queen Elizabeth is the head of state and is represented by a Governor General. The Prime Minister and the cabinet administer
the actions of the Governor.

The prime minister is the representative of the majority party in the parliament. He is elected through the general elections, which are held after every five years. Being a democratic country, the political parties contest the elections and the winning party forms the government of Saint Lucia. The leader of the winning party becomes the prime minister and forms his cabinet of ministers.
