Saint Lucia Geography



Saint Lucia Geography informs one about the topographic location as well as the climatic conditions of the island. St Lucia is located between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean. It is situated at the north of Trinidad and Tobago. The Geography of Saint Lucia denotes the latitude and longitude of the island which are 13.53 North and 60.68 West respectively. Geographic features of Saint Lucia is spread over an area of 616 square kilometers, out of which 606 square kilometers is land with the remaining 10 square kilometers of water.

Climate of Saint Lucia is tropical and is moderated by the north west trade winds. The dry season lasts from January to April while the rainy season is from May to August. Saint Lucia Geography includes volcanoes and mountains with some wide and fertile valleys. As a matter of fact, a chain of wooded mountains runs from north to south and lets many streams to flow to the valleys.

Saint Lucia Geography includes a coastline of 158 kilometers, whose lowest point is the Caribbean Sea at 0 meter. The highest point is Mount Gimie at 950 meter. The natural resources of the island includes forests, sandy beaches, minerals and a lot more.
