Carlos Santana is an internationally recognized Latin American musician and guitarist. Carlos Santana was the founder of the Santana Blues Band. The birthplace of Carlos Santana is situated at the Autlan de Navarro Jalisco area of Mexico. The father of Carlos Santana was a Mariachi violinist and he encouraged his son to take up a musical career which made him learn the violin at the tender age of just six years.
Carlos Santana picked up the interest of playing the guitar when his entire family shifted to a place called Tijuana and he was inspired by famous musicians like BB King, and T BoneWalker and John Lee Hooker. Carlos Santana formed his first band called the Santana and the names of the members were Rolie and David Brown on bass, Bob Doc Livingstone on the drums and Marcus Malone on the percussion.
Carlos Santana and the music of his band is quite unique in the sense that it is a blend of salsa, rock, blues and jazz. Carlos Santana launched his first album Santana in the year 1969 and followed it up with a series of albums like Abraxas, Santana III, Caravanserai, Amigos, Festival, Blues for Salvador, Beyond Appearances, Freedom, Santana Brothers, Santana Live at the Fillmore, Shaman, All that I Am, Shango, Havana Moon, The Swing of Delight, Marathon, Milagro and Inner Secrets.
Carlos Santana holds a record of selling 85 million albums on a worldwide basis and is also the winner of the prestigious Grammy Award with which he has managed to regain his popularity among the fans in the late 1990's.
