BB King is a legendary American Blues Artist who was born in the year 1925 on the Itta Bena area of the Mississippi. During the initial years of his career BB King used to play at the corners of the streets and in the year 1947 went to Memphis to pursue a career in music. BB King was guided by his cousin Bukka White during those initial years of his career who taught him the various techniques of blues music.
BB King managed to acquire his first break in the year 1948 after performing on the radio program of Sonny Boy Williamson. After playing in this program BB King became so popular as an artist that he had to play regularly at the Sixteenth Avenue Grill in the West Memphis area. The Memphis Radio Station became a household name and BB King became the King of Blues music.
BB King has released more than fifty albums in his career and some of the names of his famous songs are You Know I Love You,Every Day I have the Blues, Bad Luck, Sweet Little Angel, Please Accept My Love, Woke Up This Morning, On My Word of Honor,The Thrill Is Gone and Ten Long Years.
BB King is the unquestioned pioneer of blues music who has won awards like the National Medal of Arts, Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award,Kennedy Center Honors and is also the member of the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame where he was inducted in the year 1987.
