Rwanda a country located in Central Africa has had the most brutal genocide ever done in Africa. Many problems in Rwanda have risen because of the massive slaughter. The
problems in Rwanda has made life difficult for its people. But many steps are being taken to curb the
problems in Rwanda.
From the beginning Rwanda has main three ethnic tribes namely Hutu, Tutsi and Twa. The colonial rule in Rwanda resulted in rivalry and hatred between Hutu and Tutsi tribes which ultimately led to the brutal genocide in the year 1994. In this genocide people of Tutsi tribes were killed at a massive level. The local media incited the massacre of Tutsi tribes by broadcasting open messages for the killings of Tutsi people. Peace has been restored in Rwanda but Rwanda is having many
problems in different areas.
After the genocide of 1994 many people fled the country. These people took refuge in neighboring countries like Uganda and Tanzania. After peace was restored then these refugees from Uganda and Tanzania returned to Rwanda. But they faced
problems of rehabilitation. Their houses were destroyed during the civil war. Housing was a big problem. These people moved toward Savannah grasslands cut the trees and grass and built their homes there. The problem of deforestation came up in Rwanda.
After the return of refugees from Uganda and Tanzania Rwanda saw the toll of population going very high. This sudden rise in population led to
problem like lack of good education, unemployment, scarcity of basic necessities like hospitals, water and clean food. The problem of AIDS is also growing fast in Rwanda.
The Rwanda government and many NGOs are coming up to help people overcome these
problems by organizing seminars and special programs.
