Rwanda is an agricultural country that has a majority of its population engaged in cultivation. The development of industries in recent years has seen rise in Rwanda small scale beverages production too.
The cash crops that are produced here include tea and coffee. The high productivity of crops has been possible due to the favorable geographical conditions offered here. The small size of the farm, the slightly steep slope and the cool climatic conditions present here favor tea and coffee production. In fact tea alone accounts for around 60% of the export earnings. This is followed by coffee that too makes a major contribution towards the country's GDP.
The increase in productivity of Rwanda small scale beverages is necessary in order to achieve balanced growth. Rwanda also has trade relations with countries like Kenya, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands. Rwanda small scale beverages are exported to other countries and earn for Rwanda good income.
