It is being heard that the Kigali prisons are being relocated to several places. Butamwa, located in the Nyarugenge district is going to have the Remera prison, which will be built on 800 hectares of land area. The prisoners there would be engaged in productive work like agriculture and many other activities. The Remera prison in the Butamwa district will be renovated and will accommodate juvenile convicts.
