Sleeping Beauty ballet in Russia was first time staged in the year 1890 at Mariinsky Theater in St Petersburg. The performance was a huge hit and the ballet became famous overnight. This ballet was the brain child of Pyotr Tchaikovsky and was choreographed by Marius Petipa.
