Russian astronomical observations are conducted through different Astronomical observatories in Russia. These Russian observatories are located in different parts of the country. There are three main Astronomical Observatories in Russia. These three are Pulkovo Observatory, V.P. Engel'gardt Astronomical Observatory and Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Science.
Special Astrophysical Observatory is a Russian research institute. This observatory belongs to the Russian Academy of Sciences. It offers astronomical observations and investigation in the diverse astrophysics field. Some of the main instruments of this institution are the radio telescope RATAN-600 that includes a 600m multi element ring antenna and Bolshoi Azimuthal Telescope, which includes a 6m primary mirror.
Pulkovo Observatory of Russia is situated in St.Petersburg city of Russia. It was established in 1839. Friedrich Georg Wilheim von Struve, was the first founder and director of this observatory.
