Ports in Russia are among one of the means of transporting goods and freights from one destination to another. The former Soviet Union had 92 seaports but after its disintegration only 41 ports belong to Russian Federation. The development of the Ports is one of the major concerns for the Russian federal and regional governments. They are determined to rebuild the infrastructure of the ports so that international trade can be increased through its own ports.

Presently most of these ports operate with their container berths that work under concession of private companies. Often these private companies are units of larger shipping lines that utilize the ports. These Russian Ports contributes immensely in the economy of the country.
