Gazprombank is one of the biggest non-state owned banks of Russia and is among the leading financial institutions of Russia. The Gazprombank is an open joint-stock company which was established in July, 1990. It is an authorized division of OAO Gazprom and currently ranks third among the central and Eastern European banks.
Apart from the gas industry, Gazprombank also provides its valuable services to chemical, defense, engineering and other industries as well. Currently the bank has more than 36,000 corporate clients, 2 million retail clients and more than 1000 institutions of the gas industry.
The Gazprombank also provides its funds to large-scale international projects like Yamal-Europe, Blue Stream and gas transportation lines which are laid in the territories of Central, Southern and Eastern Europe. It further aims to help all international projects which are being carried out in different parts of the world and are related to gas supplies.
Gazprombank in Russia has 35 local branches, 13 cash counters and 124 subsidiary offices in the country. The bank also has an affiliated branch in Belarus and has ties with many foreign financial institutions.
Gazprombank has also improved its world ranking in ‘The Banker’ magazine. The bank has moved up from 254 to 137 rank in terms of capital. Gazprombank has won many prestigious awards and recognitions by various institutions and magazines.
