1999 Rugby World Cup Venues

The fourth Rugby World Cup was held in 1999 hosted by Wales . The event was co-hosted by Scotland, England, Ireland and France.

The venues of the 1999 Rugby World Cup were scattered around these five countries. Twenty teams participated in the biggest event of the world of rugby. A total of 41 matches were played between the teams in various stadiums in different cities. The main venue of the 1999 Rugby World Cup was the Millennium Stadium of Cardiff . The stadium was built specially for the event at Cardiff Arms Park , where the old National Stadium was situated.

The first round of the final stage of the 1999 Rugby World Cup was held at sixteen venues. Apart from the Millennium Stadium at Cardiff , the other stadiums used for staging the matches were Netherdale of Galashiels, Murrayfield Stadium of Edinburgh, Hampden Park of Glasgow, Twickenham Stadium at London , Ashton Gate of Bristol, Welford Road Stadium of Leicester, McAlpine Stadium of Huddersfield, Stade de la Mediterranee of Beziers , Parc Lescure at Bordeaux, Stade de Toulouse at Toulouse,

Racecourse Ground of Wrexham, Stradey Park of Llanelli, Lansdowne Road at Dublin, Ravenhill Stadium of Belfast and Thomond Park of Limerick .

In the knock out stage of the 1999 Rugby World Cup , two matches were also held at the Stade Felix Bollaert of Lens and Stade de France of Paris . The final and the third place play-off matches were held at the central stadium, the Millennium Stadium of Cardiff .
