Rugby World Cup Venue - Lyon, France

Lyon is another city in France that is scheduled to host three matches of the 2007 Rugby World Cup. The Pool B match between Australia and Japan, Pool D match Argentina and Georgia and Pool C match between New Zealand and Repechage 1 will be held at the Gerland Stadium in Lyon. The stadium has a capacity to hold 43,051 spectators.

Located in the South of Lyon, close to the borders of the river Rhone, the stadium is easy to access. It can be accessed by car, by bus and metro. Aeroport Lyon Saint Exupery and Saint Etienne Aeroport are the two main airports that are close to the stadium and provides accessibility to the international spectators who reach here to watch the rugby matches. The stadium was designed after an inspiration from the famous Roman amphitheatres with a large circular gallery.

This third-largest city in France is also a city famous for Guignol and is also the capital of French gastronomy. The tourists can enjoy the various French delicacies here. This major business center located between Paris and Marseille is the second largest metropolitan area in France. It is also the headquarters of Interpol.
