A three tier team in the rugby union, Namibia won a berth in Rugby World Cup for the first time in 1999. This African country, which beat Morocco to qualify for Rugby World Cup 2007, has represented the African continent in Rugby World Cup tournaments along with South Africa since 1999. Rather than aiming at winning the tournament, Namibia has a very different goal to achieve in 2007 World Cup – it has to undergo a litmus test on a global platform for the progress it has made in this sport in the last few years. Coached by Johannes Venter and led by Kees Lensing, Welwitschias contest in Pool D along with Argentina, France, Georgia and Ireland. Namibia sports a jersey with a color combination of yellow, blue, red and white. While the shorts are blue, socks will be in black.
