Different teams have different types of rugby shirts. Each team has their unique style and design. Most of the jerseys are short-sleeved but there are long sleeve jerseys as well.
Most of these shirts have a collar and have buttons at the top. The collars come in very hand, especially for the defenders, who pull down the attacker mostly by getting hold of it. There is a logo on the left hand side of the shirt in the chest area. This logo is generally the symbol of the team. Each player is assigned a number which is found at the back of the shirt. This is done so that it becomes easier for the spectators to recognize the players easily.
Previously, rugby shirts were made of cotton but nowadays synthetic is also used. Today there are high tech rugby shirts too. The reason for this change is synthetic is cheaper that cotton. Polyester is also used as it is very difficult for the tacklers to grab. Some teams also use skin tight shirts.
The rugby shirts are generally very colorful. They generally depict the mascot of the team and are always very trendy. The clubs keep on changing the basic design every two-three years making them even more stylish.
