Derek White was one of the most important players of the Scottish rugby union squad during the 1980s and the initial years of the 1990s. He was an asset of his team during that time. The rugby player was born on the 30th of January in the year 1958 and started playing rugby at quite a young age. Derek White was selected to play for the Scottish rugby union squad for the first time in 1982.
Derek White made his debut in international rugby on the 6th of March, 1982, with a match against the French squad. He played as a lock and personified strength at that position for his team during his time. This rugby player appeared for the national team for ten long years and acquired as many as 41 international caps. With his retirement on the 25th of April, 1992, after the last match against Wales, the Scottish rugby union squad lost one of the best locks it has ever had in its long history.
