Anton Oliver, or Anton David Oliver, is one of the most important members in the New Zealand rugby union squad. He is equally proficient and successful at both the international as well as the club level. He is a regular player in the Super 14 in which he plays for the Highlanders. He also plays for Otago in the Air New Zealand Cup. He started playing rugby at quite an early age. He played rugby at different levels quite successfully and was called for the All Blacks when he was only 21 years old.
Anton Oliver has a rugby bloodline. His father Frank Oliver was the captain of the All Blacks during the 1970s. Anton Oliver made his debut in international rugby for the All Blacks in 1997 against Fiji. He was appointed as the captain of the squad in 2001. He is also the author of his book, “Anton Oliver, inside”. He is regarded as one of the players on whom the fate of New Zealand rugby will rest in the coming decade
