Melbourne Storm Rugby League: The Melbourne Storm Rugby League is a rugby league team of Australia. The team is based at Melbourne, in Victoria. Rugby made its appearance in Australia in the nineteenth century. In 1877, the game was introduced to Victoria.
The first Victorian rugby club was the Carlton Football Club, which played against Sydney's Waratah Rugby Club. The second largest city of Australia, Melbourne is one of the main centers of the game in the country. In 1998, the Australian Rugby League or the ARL and the Super League competitions integrated to establish the National Rugby League or the NRL. Just before this event, the Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club was established for participating in the Super League.

A branch of News Corporation, known as News Limited, is the owner of the Melbourne Storm. In the first season itself, the club finished at the third place on the NRL ladder, with four consecutive wins. The Melbourne Storm Rugby League is the first professional rugby club in Melbourne. In 1999, the club won the NRL Premiership. Currently the Melbourne Storm holds the seventh place on the ladder. The team won the World Club Championship Title in 2000. In 2006, the team finished as the runners up in the National Rugby League.The headquarter of the Melbourne Storm Rugby League is situated at Princes park, Royal Parade, Carlton North, Victoria, 3054. The Aces Sporting Club is the League's Club.The Olympic park Stadium was the home of the Melbourne Storm between 1998 and 2000. The Colonial Stadium was the home ground of the team in 2001. Since 2002 the team has been playing in the old venue, the Olympic Park Stadium.
